Fortis Insurance Solutions has over 25 years’ experience as a personal lines insurance broker and outsourced solutions provider.

Formed in 1981 as Alliance Insurance Brokers, the company was acquired by the HSBC group in 1998 and changed from Alliance Auto Direct to become HSBC Select.

Following a management buyout in April 2003, the business became The OutRight Company UK Ltd.

In September 2005, The OutRight Company became part of Fortis (UK) Limited, a leading provider of award-winning personal and commercial lines insurance solutions, and was rebranded to UKFIS Limited in October 2008.

Fortis Insurance Solutions today

Fortis Insurance Solutions forms part of the Fortis multi-channel distribution strategy, providing transaction and support services via the Internet, Aggregators and Telesales, for personal and commercial lines insurance business. Fortis Insurance Solutions distributes and services through its own branded business AutoDirect and CoverDirect and third party branded business, offering solus or panel arrangements to suit the needs of its clients. Aligning its business activities with its partners' general insurance strategies enables Fortis to offer end-to-end white label capabilities in product development, marketing, campaign management, sales, fulfilment and claims - providing a seamless integration with partner brands.

With a turnover in excess of £16 million and operating profit of £2.4 million (as at December 2007), Fortis Insurance Solutions provides a UK-based customer contact centre with over 230 trained advisors (and capacity for 450). The business is committed to continuous growth, having a broad spread of clients and contractual agreements covering three and five year terms.
